The SMS Kaiser was commissioned in August 1912.  During her shakedown, she attained a speed of 23.6 knots.  She was also part of the German fleet in the Battle of Jutland.  After the armistice, she was detained at Scapa Flow.  The Kaiser was scuttled by her crew in 1919, and was raised in 1929 and scrapped.
